I got into the business by fluke, having joined a large corporation in April 1983 that had recently added flooring to its portfolio. I soon began to learn the ropes and became an expert in all aspects of the trade.
I eventually reached a stage where I felt that I could render higher quality standards than my employer. It motivated me to start a carpet and flooring enterprise of my own in June 2006.
Over the past fifteen years, I’ve doubled the number of people I employ, which has helped grow my firm’s revenue to over $2,000,000 a year. While financial targets are crucial, the greatest satisfaction is assisting people in making their houses more functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Consequently, I work hard for clients, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my leadership skills and customer service. While the old cliche says ‘that the customer is always right,’ I use my vast industry knowledge to help them understand that sometimes there is a better way.
I also attribute my success to my Christian values, which inspire me to render honest services and go the extra mile to make customers feel like family. As a result, it’s rewarding to receive fantastic testimonials from clients.
When I’m not installing flooring for clients, I enjoy woodworking, Bourbon, and spending quality time with my family. I also support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which treats babies and young people with life-threatening cancer.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
